The Little District is an overgrown tropical oasis set amongst an industrial site at Sylvia Park. Three seperate offerings - Cafe, Bar & Restaurant - share common seating areas to maximise floor space & allow all day trading.
Each offering is unique, yet the collection of choice allows the District to cater to all.
The interior was set to look as if you were in an exterior carpark; the staircase reminiscent of an industrial fire escape, lofty stud walls clad in exterior board & batten, and hand-painted signage all unfettered in ivy.
The ‘Parklane Dispensary’ bar stands at the District’s centre showcasing a concoction of traditional elegance and hand-crafted materials - driving a liquor occasion across the day. The large, boxy bulkhead not only enhances the presence of the bar, but creates prominent spatial divisions that encourage flow throughout.
‘Municipal Coffee Co’ sits at the shopfront - pronouncing itself into the foot traffic on the exterior lane. A transitional environment allows the cafe to rise first with the hustle & bustle of early morning shoppers, and transition into a late night jaunt for espresso martini’s.
Elements of the Little District are being rolled out across Lions new concept spaces, including the just-opened Little Creatures flagship in Hobsinville District, Auckland.
